Bethesda has released a new trailer for Shinji Mikami's The Evil Within, ahead of a new gameplay demo to be shown at the Tokyo Game Show this week.
Powered by id Tech 5 and set for release next year on PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox One and PC, The Evil Within is the debut title from Tango Gameworks, which was founded in 2010 by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami and later acquired by Bethesda owner ZeniMax Media.
The game is centred around a detective called Sebastian, who attends the scene of a mass murder only to find a powerful, mysterious force lying in wait. He's attacked and loses consciousness, eventually waking up in a world inhabited by monsters.
In our first The Evil Within preview, we said: "The Evil Within is a welcome return to survival horror. It mixes the over-the-shoulder combat (and chainsaw-wielding nutters) of Resident Evil 4 with the grim, psychological horror of Silent Hill, and the id Tech-powered visuals are beautifully atmospheric."
