Golden Joysticks clear 1 million votes

Voting now open in 15 revamped categories

The 2013 Golden Joystick Awards has registered over a million votes since opening at the beginning of the month, CVG can confirm.

This year's awards marks the ceremony's 31st, with a revamped shortlist of 15 categories, including Best Indie, Studio of the year and categories introduced to highlight innovation across all platforms.

The most prevalent games in this year's shortlist include indie hit Hotline Miami with six nominations, followed closely by new intellectual properties Dishonored and The Last of Us with five each.

Elsewhere The Walking Dead and BioShock Infinite compete in the Best Storytelling category, and for the first time in Golden Joystick history you can vote for your Best Platform of the Year - console, digital marketplace or handheld.

The 2013 Golden Joystick Awards ceremony will take place at The Westminster Park Plaza on Friday, October 25, hosted by comedian Ed Byrne, with live coverage here on CVG.
