Ten new screenshots showcase GTA V's cars and costumes

Rockstar has issued a new string of Grand Theft Auto 5 images as the industry prepares for the blockbuster's launch in September.

The images, first spotted on popular games forum NeoGAF this time show an eclectic range of details, from bank robber apparel to protagonist Michael with a five o'clock shadow.

Rockstar has confirmed a US and European GTA 5 release date of September 17 on Xbox 360 and PS3. The game will launch in Japan on October 10.

Retailers are preparing for a major spending spree on launch day.

GAME is to open hundreds of stores nationwide at midnight, while HMV stores across the country will also be opening their doors in the early hours to enable consumers to pick up copies of the game at the earliest possible opportunity.
