Sony will shut down the multiplayer servers for MAG: Massive Action Game, SOCOM 4 and SOCOM Confrontation in the New Year.
In an announcement via Twitter, Sony has confirmed it will end the multiplayer services for the three first-party published PS3 shooters on January 28, 2013.
This will be of particular significance to MAG, which is a multiplayer-only shooter.
Confrontation was released in late 2010 in US (early 2009 in EU), MAG has been active since its January 2010 launch and SOCOM 4 arrived in April 2011.
No explanation was given for the closures, although such measures are typical for older titles with small - and usually dwindling - active player counts.
MAG and SOCOM developer Zipper Interactive was closed in March 2012. "The closure is a result of a normal cycle of resource re-alignment within SCE WWS," Sony said at the time.
