Metal Gear Solid: Legacy Collection release date confirmed

Early July launch nailed down for North America

The Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection will arrive in US on July 9 costing $49.99, Konami has confirmed.

The package will include: Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3 (which includes the original MSX versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2), Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions and Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy Edition.

MGS 2, 3, and Peace Walker will all come in their 'HD Edition' forms, and the collection will also include two Ashley Wood digital graphic novels released outside of Japan for the first time.

The Legacy Collection is a PS3 exclusive. Series creator Hideo Kojima said the collection was too large for an Xbox version to be made, blaming the low capacity of Xbox 360's DVD discs relative to the Blu-rays used by PS3 and, in particular, the large storage required for MGS 4.
