Nintendo reportedly patching Tomodachi Collection gay marriage 'bug'

Company plans to address "human relations that become strange"

Nintendo is reportedly set to release a Tomodachi Collection: New Life patch addressing what's believed to be a gay marriage 'bug'.


The popular game, which has topped the Japanese software chart for the past three weeks, enables male Miis to marry other male characters, Kotaku reports.

Nintendo has yet to officially comment on whether the same sex marriage feature - which appears to be restricted to male characters - is intentional or a bug, but it has detailed a patch that will address "human relations that become strange," among other issues some users are experiencing with the game.

According to Kotaku's translation, the patch is designed to fix:

  • The inability to boot up the game
  • Error messages
  • Human relations that become strange
  • The inability to save
