Portal hits Steam for Linux

Valve classic gets Linux treatment

Valve commenced its assault on the Linux crowd with a Steam for Linux client in February, and today a key classic has hit the platform - Portal.

Valve's groundbreaking first-person puzzler launched on Steam for Linux earlier today for £6.99 to those who don't already own it on PC or Mac.

Portal was originally released on Steam for PC in October 2007, with unique teleportation-based puzzles that earned itself a widespread critical acclaim, and a passionate cult following large enough to warrant several multi-platform releases, and a blockbuster sequel which arrived in April 2011.

Steam for Linux exited its beta phase and officially launched in February.
