'Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move' is the official title for the latest game in the Mario vs. Donkey series, and it'll be released via the US 3DS eShop on May 9.
Nintendo confirmed as much today during its Nintendo Direct broadcast, during which company boss Satoru Iwata offered gameplay details and new in-game video footage, viewable below.
First announced in February under the placeholder title 'Mario and Donkey Kong', it's the fifth game in the series, but abandons the usual side-scrolling puzzle platforming for a top-down puzzle mechanic similar to the 1980s game Pipemania.
Players have to place down paths for mechanical Mario characters to walk along, being sure to avoid obstacles and hazards.
There will also be a selection of mini-games including one in which you use a slingshot to fire Mario at targets.
Here's a clip of the relevant section of the Nintendo Direct broadcast, and below that, six new screenshots.
