Passwords disabled as Rock Band developer investigates intrusion

Rock Band developer Harmonix has taken down its websites as it investigates a possible attack on its servers.

RockBand.com, DanceCentral.com, and Creators.RockBand.com have all been affected by the possible intrusion, remaining unavailable at the time of writing.

"The security of your Harmonix user information is very important to us. We've taken the sites down while we investigate this incident and determine how our systems and the information we maintain may have been compromised," said the developer in a message to registered account holders.

"At this time, we have not found that any of our users' information has been published or misused. None of our sites maintain any credit card information, social security numbers, or financial account numbers for any of our users," it adds.

Passwords have been disabled, says Harmonix, and users will receive a notification when the websites are back online. Logging back in for the first time after that will require a password reset.

The developer recommends that you change your password on any other websites for which you have used the same password.
