Nvidia tech demo video demos the future of environmental destruction

"Real Time Dynamic Fracture" tech shown off

Graphics card maker Nvidia has released a new tech demo video to demonstrate some high-end environmental distraction technology it's working on.

The video apparently shows off "Real Time Dynamic Fracture with Volumetric Approximate Convex Decompositions", according to Nvidia developer Matthias Müller.

The entire demonstration is running on a single GTX 680 graphics card at 30 frames-per-second and shows an impressive level of destructive detail as the operator appears to chip away at the rocky environment, each piece breaking off realistically until the entire structure is reduced to rubble.
