Metal Gear Solid 5: Notes on 18 key images from the reveal trailer

Storyline hints include attack on MSF base and the rise of mysterious new faction called Diamond Dogs

HIdeo Kojima has revealed Metal Gear Solid 5 as a cross-pollination of both Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain at a press conference in Los Angeles.

It was previously thought that both projects were separate, though there was much speculation regarding their link.

As die-hard fans of the series begin to gather new clues from the trailer, CVG offers early analysis of 18 key images taken from the first trailer.

Right next to him is Kaz Miller, the general manager of the Militaires Sans Frontičres base in MGS Peace Walker

After nine years comatose, Big Boss gets into the swing of things by blasting at a motorcycle with a shotgun while on horseback as he escapes a burnt building collapsing in on itself. A born hero.

/this Kojima rhetoric is ambiguous, but perhaps crucial

Again, makes no sense but seems important
