Mass Effect studio working on brand new series

BioWare producer references 'whole new fictional universe'

BioWare Edmonton, the studio responsible for the Mass Effect series, is working on a brand new IP.

Mass Effect executive producer Casey Hudson has revealed at PAX East that the Edmonton team is working on a "whole new fictional universe". Hudson will work on the project with Mass Effect lead designer Preston Watamaniuk.

Hudson also confirmed that he will remain executive producer of the next Mass Effect game, which is in development at BioWare's Montreal studio.

Hudson provided no further details regarding the new series. The fourth Mass Effect installment has yet to be officially announced, though BioWare has confirmed it will use the Frostbite engine.
