Crystal Dynamics is working with production company GK films to develop a new Tomb Raider movie.
The pair will collaborate on a film based on the video game reboot, which is released today, studio head Darrell Gallagher told Variety.
Crystal Dynamics is reportedly working closely on the project with GK Films, which has previously produced movies The Departed, Rango and Hugo.
Gallagher said of the film reboot: "They are working from this new take that we've given them. It's a good partnership. We're seeing the challenges through the same lens.
"It was important for both of us to have a cohesive version of the franchise," he added. "We didn't want to see a film version that was a continuation of the old Tomb Raider films."
The 2013 reincarnation of Tomb Raider features a younger Croft (aged 21) who embarks on her first adventure after becoming shipwrecked on a mysterious Japanese island.
So far the game's critical reception has been very positive. Read our Tomb Raider review for more details.
