Matt Nava, the art director on thatgamecompany titles Flower and Journey, has co-founded a new studio called Giant Squid.
The announcement was made this weekend via Twitter by Nava, who co-founded the studio with film and television production company The Ink Factory.
Former thatgamecompany composer Austin Wintory - who recently earned himself a Grammy nomination for his work on Journey - is on board, along with 'advisor' Nicholas Clark, also previously from thatgamecompany where he served as lead designer.
"We plan to create innovative and deeply moving games that will inspire players, challenge convention, and push the boundaries of experiential and narrative interactive entertainment into new and unexpected areas," reads the studio's site.
"We are hard at work creating our first project," declares the site. "We believe our project will deliver a moving, compelling and exciting experience to a wide audience," it says, with no further hints as what's in store.
