Despite rumour to the contrary, PS4 may yet still launch in Europe in 2013.
Amidst numerous PS4-related rumours prior to Sony's Wednesday unveiling - many of which turned out to be accurate - Edge reported that the PS4 will launch in Japan and the US by the end of 2013 but will not be released in Europe until "early 2014".
Sony is yet to confirm or deny the claim, but MCV reports that SCEE boss Jim Ryan has warned against presuming the PS4 is destined to arrive in EU territories in 2014.
"We're not saying if Holiday 2013 includes Europe at this stage," he said Ryan.
"We are only saying we will launch the system before the end of 2013, we're not saying in which parts of the world. But don't infer anything good or bad from that. You can take that anyway you want, but you shouldn't," he added.
Sony revealed the PlayStation 4 at a New York press conference on Wednesday.
The PS4 release date is set for "holiday 2013", but territories went unspecified.
The PS4 has been tipped - apparently by 'reliable sources' - for a November 2013 launch in US.
