Mass Effect 3 Citadel DLC revealed: 'one final send-off for Shepard'

Multiplayer add-on pack also set for release next week

EA has confirmed new Mass Effect 3 DLC in the form of the Citadel single player add-on and Reckoning multiplayer pack.

Launching on March 5, the former will take players "on an emotional ride with their favourite characters" as they "explore and discover new locations across the vast, deep-space station" in "one final send-off for Commander Shepard".

The last single player DLC pack for Mass Effect 3 will be priced at $14.99 on PS3 and PC or 1200 MS Points (£10.28 / €14.40 / $15) on Xbox 360.

BioWare will also release the free Reckoning multiplayer DLC on February 26, introducing new maps, character kits, weapons and upgrades for the game's online component.

Mass Effect series executive producer Casey Hudson said: "The team has poured heart and soul into Mass Effect 3: Reckoning and Mass Effect 3: Citadel. As the launch of these chapters near, the feeling around the studio is bittersweet.

"We have always been humbled and driven by the passion of our fans for the Mass Effect trilogy. We hope fans will enjoy spending more time with some of their favourite characters -- we have certainly enjoyed spending time creating them. We're excited to release this final send-off for the trilogy and move forward into the future of the Mass Effect universe."

Last November BioWare revealed that Mass Effect 4 will be powered by EA's Frostbite engine.

Hudson also asked fans if Mass Effect 4 should be a prequel or a sequel. So far all we know about the next game in the RPG series is that it will not star series protagonist Shepard.
