Valve launches Steam for Linux with opening sale

Over 50 Linux titles now 50-75 per cent off until February 21

Steam for Linux has exited its beta phase and is now officially launched.


The Steam client is now available to download for free via the Ubuntu Software Center, and to mark the occasion Valve has announced a Steam for Linux Celebration Sale.

The sale sees some 50 game prices slashed by up to 75 per cent from now until Thursday, February 21st at 10am PST (6pm GMT).

Discounted titles include Sword and Sorcery, Serious Sam 3 BFE, Defcon, FTL Faster Than Light, Trine 2, Half-Life and Counter Strike Source.
