Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity coming to Europe in May

First 3DS entry in the spin-off series

Nintendo has announced a Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity release date of May 17 in Europe.

Released in Japan in November 2012 and in the US next month, the 3DS game will be available in stores and as a download from the eShop.

The official blurb says: "Become one of five popular Pokémon from the fan-favorite franchise - Pikachu, Snivy, Oshawott, Tepig or Axew - and journey through infinite dungeons, battle and befriend other Pokémon, collect treasures and explore the game's vast, beautiful world."

Mystery Dungeon serves up randomly generated dungeons, with items and power ups that change location each time a player enters them.

Nintendo has outlined plans to release Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity DLC "on a regular basis".
