Tokyo-headquartered Namco Bandai has agreed to become the distributor of upcoming racer Grid 2 across the UK and Europe.

The PS3, PC and Xbox 360 title is just one of several Codemasters games that will be distributed by Namco Bandai. In a statement to the press, Codemasters said the agreement "encompasses major forthcoming games to be published by Codemasters on its Codemasters Racing label, including as yet unannounced titles".

A Codemasters representative was unavailable for comment at the time of going to press. The publisher recently underwent a restructure of the business with an unknown number of jobs affected.

The company's long-serving chief executive Rod Cousens said: "As the dynamics of interactive entertainment change and evolve, then the shift to collaborative support via structured agile partnerships is the way forward".

Cousens said such a manoeuvre can make business more affordable and strengthen relationships.

He said that the partnership with Namco Bandai has progressed for more than two years, though Codemasters has traditionally been the principal publisher of its own games.
