So there's clearly been a recent groundswell of debate regarding the health of the survival horror genre. Everything's all less The Shining and more Rambo, you say. Scare-fest classics like Resident Evil and Dead Space have been reduced to bulletstorms and drop-in-drop-out co-op.
But don't lose faith - games still have more potential to terrify its audience than any other entertainment medium, and if the blockbusters from Capcom and EA don't want to play along, then there's still plenty elsewhere.
Such as Slender: The Arrival - a sequel to the horrifying and critically acclaimed and borderline hallucinogenic first-person horror title that takes place in a pitch-black forest.
The sequel is due for PC and Mac on March 26, but console versions are likely too.
