Ouya CEO Julie Uhrman has confirmed that the Ouya console will release on a yearly basis.
Speaking to Engadget, Uhrman likened the company's approach to that of the mobile industry. "Our strategy is very much similar to the mobile strategy," she said.
"There will be a new Ouya every year. There will be an Ouya 2 and an Ouya 3," she added. "We'll take advantage of faster, better processors, take advantage of prices falling. So if we can get more than 8GB of Flash in our box, we will."
Uhrman also said that all new Ouya iterations will be backward compatible.
The Kickstarter funded Android console will launch in June for USD$100, it was confirmed earlier this week. Double Fine - the studio responsible for The Cave has confirmed it will develop titles for the platform.
