Sumo Digital is reportedly working on LittleBigPlanet 3.
While Sony isn't commenting on the rumour, VG247 was told that the independent, Sheffield-based studio has been working on the project for unknown platforms for "well over a year".
As well as being responsible for LittleBigPlanet 2′s cross controller pack, Sumo recently developed Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed and Nike+ Kinect Training. It has also worked on the Virtua Tennis, F1 and OutRun series.
The most recent LittleBigPlanet release, LittleBigPlanet Vita, was developed by Tarsier Studios and Double Eleven rather than series creator Media Molecule, which is known to be working on multiple new IPs on different platforms, including Tearaway for Sony's portable.
Given that Sony's expected to reveal PS4 next week, we wouldn't be surprised to see a third LittleBigPlanet home console game and a new Media Molecule project announced for fresh hardware in the near future.
