Just Cause 3 in development for PS4/Xbox 720, hints Avalanche boss' CV

Avalanche Studios working on two unnanounced games, including 'open-world action game' based on well-known movie license

Just Cause developer Avalanche Studios is working on two unannounced next-generation console games, one of which is tipped to be Just Cause 3.

The two titles are detailed in the LinkedIn profile of Avalanche Studios cofounder and CEO Christofer Sundberg, as unearthed by Superannuation.

According to the CV, the first title is an "open-world action game" based on "a well-known movie license", and will be released in April 2014 on current and next-generation consoles and PC.

The Just Cause developer has previously been rumoured to be working on an open-world game based on the upcoming flick Mad Max: Fury Road. The CV notes, however, that the game "stands on its own".

The Mad Max: Fury Road film, starring British actor Tom Hardy as Mad Max, is planned for a 2014 release.

The second game in development at Avalanche, according to the CV, is a "new installment in a very well-known game series", more specifically a "sandbox action game" to be published by Square Enix.

The obvious guess would be Just Cause 3, which according to the CV, will be out June 2015 on next-generation consoles.

The Swedish studio appeared to have switched its focus to next-generation development late last year after Sundberg posted a photo online of its PS3 and Xbox 360 dev kits, saying: "We're shipping 'em back. Going next-gen on your asses."
