November London Games Conference 'to focus on next gen platforms'

Event expected to coincide with the launch of new consoles

Intent Media has announced details of the London Games Conference 2013, which is to focus on next generation platforms.

Called 'Games: The Next Generation, London Games Conference 2013', the event will examine the new platforms expected to shape the industry over the next five years, MCV reports.

Conference director James Binns said: "There are no shortage of conferences around social and mobile... London Games Conference 2013 will add platform evolution from Sony, Xbox and Nintendo and the PC, along with emergent platforms."

London Games Conference 2013 will take place at One Wimpole Street, London from 4pm on Wednesday November 13.

Sony revealed on Thursday that it will be making an important announcement on February 20, which is widely understood to be the global unveiling of its next gen console. The company is said to be planning to launch PlayStation 4 in the US and Japan this year, and in Europe in "early 2014".

Microsoft is also reportedly targeting a holiday 2013 release date for Xbox 720, or whatever it decides to call its next generation games console.
