Nintendo Land and New Super Mario Bros U both surpass 2m sales

Software sales boost despite soft demand for new home console

Two exclusive Wii U titles have each managed to sell more than two million copies into retail worldwide since their launch, Nintendo has revealed.

As of the end of December, Nintendo Land sales reached 2 million while New Super Mario Bros. U sales surpassed 2.3 million.

Due to the three million Wii U consoles sold globally, software sales of both games would suggest that Nintendo is again driving the tie ratios of its own platform.

It is not clear what percentage of these games sold through to customers.

Nintendo told investors on Wednesday that it expects to sell four million Wii U units into retail by the end of March. It previously expected to reach 5.5 million sales by that point.
