Apple announces 128GB iPad

Larger storage versions to release February 5

Apple has announced that 128GB fourth generation iPads will release from Tuesday, February 5.


The new iPads boast twice the storage capacity of the current largest available 64GB models and will be available in black or white, Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi+ Cellular versions.

Suggested retail prices in the US are $799 for the iPad with Wi-Fi model and $929 for the iPad with Wi-Fi + Cellular model.

In the UK the models carry a suggested retail price of £639 (£532.50 excluding VAT) for the Wi-Fi-enabled version and £739 (£615.83 excluding VAT) for the Wi-Fi plus 3G model.

Apple's senior VP of worldwide marketing, Philip Schiller said of the news: "With more than 120 million iPads sold, it's clear that customers around the world love their iPads, and everyday they are finding more great reasons to work, learn and play on their iPads rather than their old PCs.

"With twice the storage capacity and an unparalleled selection of over 300,000 native iPad apps, enterprises, educators and artists have even more reasons to use iPad for all their business and personal needs."
