VGA 2012: The Phantom Pain revealed with video

Moby Dick Studio-developed thriller announced

'The Phantom Pain' has just been revealed at the 2012 VGA awards.

A trailer, made entirely of "gameplay" footage, featured a character who had seemingly been in a crash and had suffered a long coma, losing his memories.

He wakes up in hospital with seemingly no memories of what's happened or where he is. He has a hook for an arm.

Then things get chaotic when men in military gear turn up and start executing everyone in the hospital as the protagonist stumbles around in a attempt to stay hidden. It appears to be a phycho-thriller - "Something is coming... do they want me dead?" says text in the video, as the mysterious enemy approaches shrouded in fog. It looks like a dream.

The trailer concluded with a giant whale appearing out of nowhere, launching through the air and eating a helicopter.

It's a "Moby Dick Studio" game, apparently. No other details were announced.

Moby Dick Studio is supposedly based in Sweden and has acquired licences to develop for Xbox 360 and PS3.

New Metal Gear, anyone?

Check out the trailer at the 10:40 mark in the video below.
