Vita firmware 2.01 released, fixes cloud storage bug

It's a mandatory update even if you're not a PlayStation Plus subscriber

Sony has released Vita firmware 2.01, fixing a minor bug identified in system update 2.00.

The bug in question caused the PlayStation Plus automatic cloud saving functionality to fail, meaning players had to use the handheld's Content Management app to manage and backup their data.

The Vita update is mandatory, regardless of whether or not you're currently a Plus subscriber, TheSixthAxis reports.

PlayStation Plus owners who've had their Vita on standby in recent hours will likely find that the update's already been downloaded to the system.
