Battlefield: Bad Company gets 'comedy' TV show

Fox teams with Sony TV and Alias writer John Eisendrath

Fox has reportedly kicked off production of an 'action comedy' TV series based on EA's Battlefield: Bad Company franchise.

According to a Hollywood Deadline report, Sony TV and studio Happy Maddison are handling production, with Alias writer and exec producer John Eisendrath penning the script.

The show will reportedly star the main characters from the game's single-player campaign, and follow a squad of four soldiers 'as they exit military life and enter the private sector'.

According to the report, "Trouble is never far behind as they realize their commanding officer had used them to further the ends of a shadow unit within the government and now wants them dead to cover his tracks.'

EA's Patrick Bach and Patrick O'Brien are also involved in the project, it's said.

Battlefield developer DICE is already hard at work on Battlefield 4, expected to release in late 2013.
