Insomniac's new PS3 game Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault will add a new tower-defense gameplay element to the traditional mix of action and platforming.
As Insomniac explains: "Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault heads back to the classic camera, weapons and third-person Ratchet gameplay that the series is known for, while adding a new tower defense element that will have you building and defending a base against invasions using your ultimate Ratchet & Clank arsenal."
Players will choose between three playable characters, Ratchet, Clank, or Captain Qwark, and take on a "new nemesis" and their alien army.
There will be five levels set on three different planets, and you can co-op with others either online or in split-screen mode, with plenty of unlockable content as you go.
The developer teases an "awesome" online mode that it'll "reveal later". In the meantime, have a look at the first screenshots.
It arrives on PS3 this autumn.
