Activision Leeds' first game is Pitfall

1982 classic getting a mobile revamp for the modern era

The UK-based Activision Leeds studio has confirmed that its first game will be a remake of Pitfall.

Activision's Martyn Brown confirmed that the team, which had been tipped as the developer of mobile Call of Duty titles, is in fact busy on a remake of the 1982 classic for mobile devices, with 'finishing touches' currently being implemented.

"The first game we are making is in fact Pitfall, which is 30 years old this year," Brown told MCV.

"We've been working on Pitfall since earlier in the year when we set up and it has been really good to revisit that and bring it to a modern audience."

Brown also hinted, however, that the studio looks to work on a range of Activision properties in future. "Being able to call upon a wide portfolio of properties is really good for us and we are looking forward to finally showing it to more people," he said.

The studio is reportedly responsible for development of "all handheld [and] iOS versions of Call of Duty" going forward.
