Respawn Entertainment: No plans for Gamescom

Studio's mystery sci-fi project held back as production continues

Respawn Entertainment, the studio founded by Call of Duty creators Jason West and Vince Zampella following their dramatic exit from Infinity Ward, will not be showing its mysterious first title at GamesCom next month, it has revealed on Twitter.

"No, no plans to attend so far," the studio told a fan asking about its possible appearance.

The Activision and Infinity Ward lawsuit reached an out-of-court settlement in May, following a bitter and public dispute that dragged on for two years.

At E3 studio co-founder Vince Zampella told CVG that the reveal of Respawn's first game will be "hopefully soon".

EA Games president Frank Gibeau previously hinted the game is a sci-fi shooter that will compete with the likes of Halo and Gears of War.
