Journey developer thatgamecompany has said that a European release for the Journey: Collector's Edition is currently not on the slate.
We were hoping that an EU release would follow shortly after the US - set for August 28 - but it seems EU gamers may never see a localised version.
"We wish Europeans could get it, but there's nothing we can do. The best thing for you to do is bug @PlayStationEU," said thatgamecompany to concerned Twitter followers.
"If we could release it in Europe, we would, but it's not up to us where it gets released," it added.
The developer said that localisation costs are a lot to do with Sony's decision-making. "There's also manufacturing, advertising, translating (documentary and dev commentaries), shipping, dealing with retailers, etc," said thatgamecompany.
One glimmer of hope - other than the simple remedy of just importing a US copy since PS3 is region-free - is that the extra content on the three-game disc release could be released in EU via PSN.
"We're not in charge of which regions get the #JourneyPS3 CE, but I'll see if the excluded regions can get the extra content on PSN," said the rep.
