Eidos Montreal has long been rumoured to be working on the next step in the classic Thief franchise. Today the studio confirmed it via a Twitter post.
"The worst kept secret in the industry steps out of the shadows...THIEF 4 OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED!" reads the latest Twitter post from the developer.
The post also included a link to the official Thief 4 forum.
No further details were revealed by the developer so we'll leave you to speculate away in the comments section. You've go to think that the game will see the light of day on PC, 360 and PS3, though in what order is anybody's guess.
It's worth remembering that the stealth landscape has changed quite a bit since the last Thief outing. Metal Gear 4, Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell. The bar is quite high.
More at E3 we reckon.
